Arrived Safely

We have arrived safely in Istanbul! Got to Wellington airport to discover we had left the laptop sitting at home with no time to go back and get it. Oh well, such is life! So a replacement for Aly's raging laptop was included in calculations and we are all go again. The main issue was going to be storage of photos etc, but luckily Adrian packed the 1TB hard drive in a separate bag! The flight was long but uneventful with a 6hr stop over in Singapore (=3hr sleep) and then the onward flight to Istanbul. The nice lady at the Koru check in put a priority tag on our bags so we were expecting a quick exit from the baggage area. Sadly it was not t be as Aly was pulled aside at Auckland and told one of our bag tags had been removed (obviously on the Wgtn-Auckland sector) and had been replaced with another tag without the priority label. But the good news was our bags all arrived. eventually. When we exited Denise the tour leader was waiting.  quick stop in to Turkcell was called for to sort of a mobile sim. It is working now, so negotiations were acceptable even with the lack of sleep. We have met a few members of the tour group now, and they seem to be a good bunch generally, with the age demographic as expected being a little more senior that us. Time for some sleep now.
