A rest day today which was appreciated after the long day yesterday. So we hopped in the minivan and headed off to Ephesus - an ancient Roman city built in the 10th century BC. Around 25% of the city has been restored so although it is in ruins many of the structures and roads have been uncovered. An amazing number of wild but tame cats were running around the site. At lunch Aly was surprised by a birthday cake and a card signed by the whole group. A very nice touch and good bit of organising by our guide. Barish. After lunch it was the obligatory visit to the leather factory where quite a few of the group bought leather goods at pretty good pricing - including a birthday present for Aly who was used as a model in the show before the tour of the warehouse! Then it was back to the hotel before heading out for a quiet dinner at Kasimusta a local restaurant recommended by the guide. He booked a table for us and even arranged a special birthday dessert.
